A delightful bakery with amazing sandwiches and a tremendous selection of soft drinks and coffees. The place is very clean sanitary and well organized. The service is quick knowledgeable and customer friendly. I would recommend the Italian cookies and cherry squares. The fresh baked bread is some of the finest in the world.Attend!!!!

Best cannolis in Chicago, the bakery and Italian cookies are excellent ! And the bread is great, you must eat it in two days, if not dry it out in its original paper and it makes the best bread crumbs use an old fashion cheese grater

Sub sandwich with provalone cheese and salami meat is very good. Whle there, we also bought a box of homestyle cookies

The best old school Italian bakery in the city. Along with a few other choice places in the city down on Taylor Street, I’ve been coming here since I was a small child with my grandparents. This is some of the best old school pizza you’ll find. They’ve got the deli next door, and you just can’t beat this place for anything old school Italian.

Very cozy place and friendly staff with traditional style of baking.

This place is AWESOME!!! Everything from their bread to sub sandwiches are A++++, but what really does it for me is their thin take on the margherita pizza!

The most iconic Italian bakery in Chicago. Their products are great and their prices are justified.

I grew up eating D’Amato’s bread. My Sicilian great-grandma used to give me the culi (end of the bread) to teeth on as a baby. As an adult back in the city, I still eat their bread and it’s still my favorite all around. So good and reminds me of family.

Service is great, subs great, pizza great, cannolis the best! D'Amato's is a Chicago staple! Simply the best!

Always love this place ... however was terribly disappointed with the salad we bought on the weekend. It was terrible ... wilting iceberg lettuce, totally tasteless olives, stale dressing, bitter onion ... we ate about 1/4 of it and tossed it in the trash. We were eating by the front window and as we were leaving one of the staff asked us "How was the salad?" I said, "Terrible" and pointed to the trash ... she should have offered to do something but didn't.

Wow. What a selection. And their pizza is delicious and hot, with crispy crust that falls into your mouth. Would definirwlt come here again.

Fantastic food! Their sub sandwiches are great and their bread and desserts are phenomenal. I was also surprised at how reasonable their prices are. The only downside is they only take cash. But it's well worth a trip to an ATM.

Out of all the Italian bakeries in Chicago, we chose D’Amato’s for my wedding sweet table and couldn’t be more pleased! My mother said they were the most authentic Italian cookies and pastries she has seen in 50 years. She brought home one tray for herself because she wouldn’t share! Rosanna knew exactly what we wanted and I had complete trust in her.

This place obviously knows how to serve their customers. Constantly with a kind demeanor. The food is affordably priced, constantly yummy and neat.

Best arancini I ever had, EVER! Get with meat sauce 😋 if you're not a vegetarian. Only One makes a hell of a filling meal.

To their Sicilian pizzas, Italian subs and pastries this is the BEST place!

OMG!! This is best! And it has been for decades! Get pizza by the slice, authentic! Double park like the cops and Firemen and grab some lunch. You’ll be back!

I got 2 slices of pizza. It was very good but kinda greasy and a little on the expensive side. The pretty young lady behind the counter was very nice. I was going to return to get some desserts and other items, but ran out of time during my trip and couldn't make it back. I would return and recommend to anyone, though!

I will come again !!! Perfect 👌ðŸ»

My daughter brought D’Amatos cookies to our Thanksgiving feast. I admit they were very good! But, they were some of the UGLIEST cookies I’ve ever seen. I put them on my sweet table, but only a couple were eaten...proving that PRESENTATION IS IMPORTANT!!! My 87 year old mother, not professionally trained, makes gorgeous Christmas cookies, especially compared to these.

An Italian bakery from the past. Retail and Wholesale operations. Great service & advice over the phone when I needed bread for 200+ Italian Beef sandwiches. The order was ready when we arrived and an employee loaded the car for us. It's a bakery -- bread and a wide selection of cookies and pastries. It's also a cafe -- great subs, pan pizza and focaccia. Can't wait to go back. CASH ONLY.

I’ve tried their bread, pizza and subs and they were all amazing with great flavors and excellent service. I did not expect pizza here to be that good, but it is! Should definitely pick up a few slices to go and ask them to heat it up for you, you will not regret it!

First time customer, bought the turkey & cheese 10 inch. Love the bread, great sandwich overall with at a great price! I just wish the store accepted credit cards & there was more parking in the area. I just wish that the young lady who took my order would have been a little more friendly.
True Blue
The best meatball sandwich I ever had. Their cookies are amazing too. You can tell they care about the quality of their food. I will definitely be returning to this place time and again on my visits to Chicago. I just want to try everything on the menu.

Very good bakery with nice espresso. I always stop for a pizza or sandwich when passing by. Great pastry and cookies.
